Fitness Goals

There is a saying that “A goal without a deadline is just a dream.” In that vein, I have not only placed a deadline on my health and fitness goals, I have also reduced them to writing so that I can be held accountable. Here they are.

1. I want to lose 78 pounds at a rate of 1.5 pounds per week. I can reach my goal weight in 52 weeks, which would be the week of April 1, 2013. My husband told me to re-evaluate this goal at the 50 pound mark, which would be the week of November  19, 2012.  I may have an updated goal around that time.  We’ll see.  Despite a slow start and a serious plateau, I’m still trekking along.  I’m praying that my participation in the Woman’s Day Live Longer & Stronger Challenge will help me cruise past the plateau and achieve this goal.

2. I want to run my first 5K race during the Spring of 2013.  A 5K is exactly 3.10685596 miles.  That is 3 miles + 564 feet + 2.4 inches.  Accomplished May 5, 2013!

Once I reach my goal weight, I want to continue to eat healthy and exercise regularly so that I will maintain that level of health and fitness. I want to live an abundant life without taking medications for cholesterol and blood pressure.

This list of goals is evolving.  Please pray for me as I work toward achieving these goals.
