10 Tips for Safely Travel with Your Infants

April 9, 2022 by my-faith-and-fitness Leave a Comment

One of the things that give young millennial parents a hard time is traveling with their infants on long road trips. But of course, they must be carried on any trip, especially if you are going to visit your grandparents.

But does it always have to be a stressful trip because you carried your adorable infant along? Well, the fact is that you can travel stress-free with your kid and reach your destination with happiness.

There are simple things you can do to make your kid and yourself happy and comfortable all through the journey. Here are some tips for traveling with your infant:

Tip #1: Driving at night

This sounds weird, especially if you are not used to traveling at night. However, this is a great way to travel with your infant with minimal or no disturbance at all. At night, the child will spend most of the hours sleeping unless you have the kind of a kid that is always awake at night.

Another great advantage of driving at night is driving for long stretches without breaking. Your child will less bored and hungry because he or she will be sleeping.

Tip #2: Choose a route that caters for your needs

Most destinations have more than one route. Always choose a route that has all that you need along the way whether you are traveling at night or during the day. Choose a route that has access to restrooms, food, service for your car and gas station. This will help you in case you feel tired and want to pull over to have some rest.

Tip #3: Have the right car seat stroller combos

This is a must-have if you are traveling with your infant, especially for long distances. The beauty of having the best car seat stroller combo is the comfort and protection that they give your child.

The unexpected may happen, but when your child is on their car seat strollers, they are safe from any impact of an accident. You can look for those car seat strollers that are all-in-one. They can be used as car seats and strollers in case you want to move out of the car with your infant.

Tip #4: Have the required supplies

Every parent knows that children are demanding in their care. If you are going for a long trip, ensure that you have all the needed items within your reach. You don’t have to unbuckle from your seat to access them. You need to carry things like changeable diapers, wipes, versatile toys, especially on the car seat stroller, an extra blanket, some breast milk, and infant Tylenol among others. Of course, you need snacks and other types of food.

Tip #5: Choose the right songs

Well, although songs may not be so good to your infant, choosing great melodies where you add your lyrics to keep the baby entertained can be a great way of keeping the baby awake and entertained. Singing to your baby is more effective than having some music on the radio, especially when you want them to take a nap.

Tip #6: Don’t be so hard on yourself

You are not superhuman. You will get tired and drowsy after long hours of driving. Pushing yourself to the extreme can be very tragic. If you are amid such a condition, accidents happen. Pullover and relax for some hours whenever you are drowsy.

Tip #7: Have regular breaks

An adult can stay for up to six hours without the need to use a restroom. However, your infant cannot hold it for such a long time. Therefore, always try to make stops after every one to three hours when traveling during the day. At night, only make a stop in a secure place after three to six hours. You can use this time to change diapers and stretch a bit.

Tip #8: Exchange babysitting duties

Although mothers are good at taking care of infants, it is a good idea to exchange roles after some hours. If one of you is on the wheel, the other should be with the baby resting and keeping the baby entertained. After some time, exchange roles and let the one who has rested take over the wheel. Try to sleep when the baby is sleeping to be refreshed to take over the wheel.

Tip #9: Be ready for the unexpected

Even if you have serviced your car, ensure you carry that spare tire, tire iron, a jack, and other essential tools. Take the right precautions, even when you don’t have your infant on board.

Tip #10: Ensure the car is in prime condition

Can you imagine your car being towed at midnight while your baby is screaming the loudest? That can be very frustrating. To avoid that, ensure you have your vehicle checked before departure.

CONCLUSION

The above tips can make your trip awesome and enjoyable, even when you are with your infant. Never think of leaving your baby alone in the car, especially when going for some shopping, carry a car seat baby stroller for easier maneuvering. Now you have what it takes to have a decent trip.

Types of solar panels

April 9, 2022 by my-faith-and-fitness

Solar panels for RVs have become increasingly popular because they allow their owners to generate their own energy. When converting the house trailers into self-sufficient and self-sustainable vehicles, the installation of solar electric systems represents a great economic advantage since it reduces the expenditure on electricity and resources. In addition, it allows the traveler to move more comfortably by not needing to be connected constantly to a conventional electricity grid system. At first, acquiring solar panels can be expensive; however, with the energy savings it represents, the investment can be recovered in a short period of time since the main purpose of the ecological technology is, mainly, the use of natural resources and the reuse of them, which leaves us a considerable reduction in terms of usage of expensive fuels and generation devices that must be replaced frequently. There are many factors to consider when acquiring a solar panel kit, among them, is to determine what type of system is better for our artifact. In the case of solar self-generation produced by panels, we have two types; the photovoltaic one and the thermal one. Photovoltaic solar panels work through the generation of chemical reactions and thermal panels function by means of reactions through the heating of water to create energy. Photovoltaic solar energy is based on gaining power by the incidence of the sun's rays on the panels' surface, which generates a chemical reaction that consists of obtaining energy from the light, sending it to the electrons causing them to separate of neutrons and protons, and, then it is released in the form of electricity. This type of system works better the more exposure they have to the sun, that is to say, they must be placed directly in front of the sun to get as much light as possible, and therefore produce more electrical charge. The main components of these devices are photovoltaic cells, however, several types can be found within this category. Among them are the crystallines; monocrystalline, polycrystalline and amorphous. The monocrystalline is composed of sections of a single silicon crystal, polycrystalline is created from a set of crystallized particles and amorphous ones have silicon particles that are not crystallized. There are also solar panels made of gallium arsenide, cadmium telluride, Indian copper diselenide or tandem diselenide. On the other hand, we have thermal solar panels; its method of operation is much simpler because these devices, on the other hand, and as their name implies, work by generating energy through the heat obtained from the sun's rays. Inside the solar panels, pipes that allow the circulation of water are installed, this water is heated with the warmth absorbed by the solar panels and releases energy that is, then, converted into electricity. This type of system can be manufactured by hand, which makes it cheaper than the photovoltaic one. In this case, the types of thermal panels vary according to the degree of heat that they can reach, so they are divided into those of low temperature, medium-temperature, and high temperature. For these reasons, to choose which type of solar panel is the best for us, we must consider factors such as the investment we have at hand, the electric charge we need to generate, and even the climate of the area in which it will be installed.

The 5 Worst Travel Apps

The 5 Worst Travel Apps

The 5 Worst Travel Apps

We might as well face up to the fact that the attention depleting smartphone in your pocket isn’t going away anytime soon. The best thing to do is fill it with things that help you in your day to day experience of the world. In this case we’re looking at apps, although it’s worth noting that the five apps below are ones you’re probably never going to find useful. Think of it as me being kind and doing some BS filtering for you.

1. Find Nearest McDonalds

I have nothing against free-will. Not a thing, but i will say this: If you’re so desperate for a McDonalds that you need an app to find one nearest to you, you’re in serious trouble in life. what’s more is that if you have any map application all you need do is type McDonald’s in the search field and it does exactly the same thing. When you’re in a foreign country, please do your best to try the local food rather than eating burgers and fries. The app isn’t even free!

2. iWasHere

Was I? Several times while using this app I ‘checked in’ at places I’ve never been to. It’s a bit like Foursquare but much worse. the user experience is poor and when you’ve used the far superior Foursquare it’s difficult to see the point of iWasHere. There are several functions that I won’t describe here that seem to encourage intrusive, stalkerish behaviours and that alone is enough to put me off. Don’t waste your brain power on this one.

3. Coppertone MyUVAlert

This is an app that beeps at you when you need to reapply sunscreen and suggests products to buy. I think that’s all I really need to say.

4. EHU

I might be going crazy, but an app that measures the electrical output of your travel gadgets seems a bit counter-intuitive. Using electricity to measure how much electricity you’re wasting is just bonkers. I’ve come up with a much better solution: Use your electronic devices as little as possible or not at all when you’re away. Why not enjoy your trip instead of wasting energy by wasting energy.

5. Swearport

I’m in two minds about this app. On the one hand it’s hilariously funny in that it lists an enormous number of expletives in foreign languages, but on the other it’s useless to you while travelling unless you want to start a fight and get thrown into a Thai prison. In fact I’d go as far as to say it actually hinders you because it teaches you how to insult people in their home country. Not something you want to be doing as an ambassador for the country you’re from.
